masquerade ball

last saturday i volunteered at a masquerade
ball to raise money for a new community
center downtown. it was lots of fun. my favorite
part was the cabaret. i dont have photos of
that unfortunately because i was pouring
champagne as fast as i could to keep all the
thirsty people satisfied. and boy, were they
ever thirsty!

yesterday for some weird reason......

these photos were taken in the em gallery.
my friend haydee has a breathtaking installation
there for the month. most people know of haydee
as an amazing lyricist and singer... but this
show really highlights her beautiful visual and
conceptual sensibilities. she never ceases to amaze
me and i encourage anyone who can to see the
show while it is up. these photos are just tiny little
glimpses into the whole experience.

as for my own creative process..... things have really
slowed down the last couple of weeks. i worked
30 days straight and have been in pain for about the
last 10 days, with a few good days mixed in. i know it
will pass, it always does.... but it is frustrating and
depressing to hurt so much so often. i hope to be back
on track very soon.

have been for about a week. ugh....

happy birthday fred! #36!!
this is the front of the card i made him,
it is me with cheese, tanner, and sunny
flying through the air.

also included is a photo of tanner just
now licking his lips. he reminds me of
a staple-remover with those sharp
fangs.

we discovered this giant
wolf spider yesterday while
working at secca. today
he had crawled down low
enough for the brave mr.
andy mabe to trap him.
we set him free outside and
had another about half it's
size try to follow us back
inside!!

im posting a photo of the mandala i have
been working on the last 3 weeks. it will be
going inside the art-o-mat machine ( www.artomat.org)
that is located at secca-- where i work sometimes!
im so glad to have it finished!!!!!

YAY! i can post photos again!!!

i wasn't able to post any photos the last few days
becasue it said my account was full. i took these
tuesday.

there is one of me getting the mail. i wanted to show
the busy street in front of my house and the weird
businesses where they build houses on the sides
of the road and then - i guess- deliver them to the
places where people who buy them want them to go.














there is also a photo of my hand on an elephant ear leaf.
i love the color green and there is so much of it right now.
we have been getting some much needed rain.
i love the rain and i love how it makes the color green
seem so much more vivid.

we celebrated kat's bday last night
by going to a fancy mexican restaurant
with racy murals on the walls. afterwards
there was an exciting photo session in the
parking lot. suzie took this funny photo!
