idea.

merry christmas eve!

i spent the morning and afternoon at my friends suzie
and jacob's house. it was such a beautiful day---the dogs
had an excellent time playing. it was just what the doctor
ordered after such a hectic couple of months!

now im off to the church i grew up going to - konnoak hills
moravian. there is a neat christmas eve service. my favorite
part is the last song when they turn off all the lights and
everyone is holding candles. it's very pretty.

im also posting a photo from last night's christmas party
at Mary's!! it was a lot of fun and the food was magical!
(it was a turkish feast, so you can imagine...)

merry christmas and happy holidays, peace and love

big red truck

check out this GIANT truck i am driving this week!
i was half asleep when i went to the rental car
place monday, and when they asked what i wanted
to drive, i said "that big red truck." it is fun to
drive.... although not very economical. i feel like
it should have a giant W sticker on the back
window..... and that freaks me out a LOT!
luckily, things SHOULD be straightened out with
the insurance people tomorrow, and i will be
back in a nice enviro-friendly-mobile in the next week
or so. (by the way, my car accident last week resulted
in my car being TOTALLED... so that's what all this
is about!) i hope my nephew, dylan, gets to see the
truck. he will LOVE it!!!

in art news, i am working on my FINAL commision of
the holiday season that has to be finished tomorrow.
(i wont be sleeping much tonight!) after that, i have
24 hours to find gifts for my family! ahhh, Christmas time.....

here we go again....

9 months ago i was in a car accident when someone
ran a stopsign and totalled my car. today on my way
to work, 2 blocks away from my destination, someone
ran a stop light and plowed right into me! luckily no
one was hurt.

making friends

we normally have the house divided into cat side and dog
side.... but today sunny has had some freedom to be on
the cat side. i was happy to see sunny and cheese
sharing a chair! so cute.

still hoping for snow

i finished my 1st commisioned piece late saturday night and delivered it
early sunday morning. the bad news is that my digital camera battery
died so i wasn't able to get a photo of it. it was a family portrait for the
nicest couple who come into the restaurant i work at on the weekends.
they had asked for a "monster" family portrait after seeing the painting
shown below. i ended up making the parents half human-half rabbit and the
2 boys half human-half bear cub. there were some really pretty space
flowers all around them. i think they were happy with the end result.

i was up painting til 2am last night and then amazingly made it to an 8am
yoga class. i am trying hard to develop a regular yoga routine to help
with my headaches. i always seem to get so busy that i let it slide, and
then end up feeling bad about it.

i cant say much about the 2 paintings i am working on now...
except i will say that they will both be masterpieces!
im enjoying them very much.

finally, here is a silly photo of myself taken in the ladies room at
the werehouse. i was feeling high on hot chocolate when i took this
yesterday!

let it snow!

i am hoping to wake up to a nice beautiful snow
in the morning.... though i know it's most likely
to be rainy and cold.

art-wise, i am currently working on 3 paintings
that were commisioned for christmas presents.
i will post photos of those after the holidays.
in my spare time, i am writing in my holiday
cards and hope to send them out in the next
week or so. i love the design. i would share
it if i could figure out my scanner....
the actual cards are TINY. there are new
self-serve machines at kinkos that no one-
including me- could seem to figure out. we got
it to repeat the image, but it made it so tiny
it's hard to see.

let's see, the photos i am about to post are:
the view i had out the window of krankie's
today as i was drawing out a new yoga flyer,
a glimpse into the electric moustache through
a mirror in zap's installation,
a photo from sunday's opening night,
a sweet dog that stayed with us a few days last
week before setting off to find his family,
and the mayor.

simply yummy show!

hi!
i have broken my rule of one cup of coffee on sundays only by
having a cup each day the last week and 2 cups today!!!!!!!!!
AAAAHHHHHH!!!!!
im a little wired. i just hung my show at simply yummy (the
coffee shop in reynolda village)! it looks great! it is such a
nice little building and i love how my work looks in there.

im posting a couple of photos. one is of my friend steve
who made me the most beautiful frames for 2 of my paintings!
he welded them out of steel and they really make the art
work look like a million bucks. thanks steve! in this photo he
is asking the magic eight ball a question.

then i took a photo of one of the frames. i am going back
tomorrow when there is more light so i can get a sharper
photo.... but for now!!!
